Ready to plan a fall adventure to Tahoe? Here are some of our favorite activities during this beautiful time of year:

Oktoberfest can be found various places and dates from late September through October. Visit Camp Richardson during the first weekend in October or Squaw Valley on September 18th.

The Kokanee Salmon Festival at Taylor Creek celebrates the fall migration of the Kokanee salmon. This free family event is held October 6th and 7th. The public is invited to the restocking of the 12″-14″ sized trout over the course of the weekend.

Apple Hill is open year-round but is always fun during autumn. Pick apples, sample apple ciders and apple pies, visit a winery and enjoy the fall colors!

If you’ll be visiting Lake Tahoe this autumn, we encourage you to take a day trip to the beautiful Apple Hill! This is a wonderful time of year to explore apple orchards, sample fresh apple pies and ciders and celebrate the fall season. Founded in 1964 and now representing over 50 local family farms, Apple Hill offers apple picking, wineries, flower gardens, Christmas tree farms and other fruit and vegetable gardens. On the Apple Hill website, you can find links to a map, harvest schedules, events, apple varieties, COVID-19 safety precautious, an interactive app and more!

This year, for the first time ever, the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery will release 5,000 large Pilot Peak Lahontan cutthroat trout into their home waters of Lake Tahoe. The public is invited to the restocking of the 12″-14″ sized trout over the course of the weekend.

Apple Hill is open year-round but is always fun during autumn. Pick apples, sample apple ciders and apple pies, visit a winery and enjoy the fall colors!

With temperatures dropping but the weather still mild, autumn is one of our favorites times to visit Lake Tahoe. If you’re planning to join us, here are a few local activities to keep in mind:

Oktoberfest can be found various places and dates from late September through October. Visit Squaw Valley on September 22nd or Camp Richardson on October 6th and 7th.

The Kokanee Salmon Festival at Taylor Creek celebrates the fall migration of the Kokanee salmon. This free family event is held October 6th and 7th. Join in a salmon feed or perhaps a 5k, 10k or 1/2 marathon.

Apple Hill is open year-round but is always fun during autumn. Pick apples, sample apple ciders and apple pies, visit a winery and enjoy the fall colors!
