Summer in Tahoe 2021

  • Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor: Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy live theater right on the lake! This year includes the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), an irreverent and lightning-paced romp through some of the greatest plays of all time.
  • 4th of July Lights on the Lake Fireworks: Each year, Lake Tahoe puts on a spectacular fireworks show to celebrate the 4th. NBC’s Today Show calls it one of the top fireworks display in the country! Follow the link to find some of the top spots to view the event.
  • The American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament at Edgewood: July 6th-11th, pro athletes and Hollywood celebrities will compete in this ever-popular event at one of Lake Tahoe’s most beautiful golf courses.
  • Hot August Nights: Celebrating America’s love of classic cars and rock ‘n roll, this year’s event will be held in Virginia City on July 30th-31st and Reno/Sparks on August 3rd-8th.

A tour of the historic Virginia City or a Thunderbird Lodge Tour (by land, boat or kayak) might round out those summer days… what are your favorite ways to spend summer in Tahoe?

Summer in Bandera

Poolside in Bandera

Planning a trip to the Texas Hill Country this summer? Here are a few favorite events happening in July and August:

  • For July 4th, check out Robert Earl Keen’s 4th on the River. Located in Kerrville, this all-day event features live music, food and beer, bounce houses and the largest fireworks display in the Texas Hill Country.
  • The 3rd Saturday in July is Night in Old Fredericksburg, a summer evening of food, live music, an evening dance and a chili cook-off.
  • August 26th-29th is the annual Gillespie County Fair, the oldest county fair in Texas.

Or perhaps you’d enjoy tubing and kayaking on the Medina River, a visit to the San Antonio Zoo or the always popular Cowboys on Main in Bandera. How do you like to spend summer in the Hill Country?

Summer in Daytona

Daytona Beach Shores

Looking ahead to warm summer days? If you’ll be visiting Daytona, here are a few of our favorite summer events:

  • Daytona Tortugas baseball season! Head over to Jackie Robinson baseball field — after the games, kids are allowed to run the bases! Find the game schedule here.
  • Visit the Ponce De Leon Inlet Light Station and climb to the top of Florida’s tallest lighthouse. The views are spectacular!
  • Over on the boardwalk, enjoy the Daytona Beach Bandshell Concerts. Although the schedule is limited this year, this is always a wonderful venue for live music. Find the current schedule here.
