Our Favorite Tahoe Breweries

Autumn in Tahoe is a wonderful time to check out some of the area’s best breweries! Here are some of our favorites:

Cold Water Brewery: This all-grain brewery features hand-crafted beer brewed on site, California comfort food, a full service bar, 5 huge TVs and weekly events and dining specials. Sunday brunch also features a Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar.
Stateline Brewery: This popular brewery is a short walk from the casinos and Heavenly’s Gondola.
The Brewery at Lake Tahoe: Established in 1992, this local favorite occupies a charming red brick house built in the 1930s.
Lake Tahoe Aleworx: This taproom offers a constantly rotating selection of 30 taps including: 3 wines, 1 kombucha, 1 nitro coffee and 25 craft beers. There is also live music!
South Lake Brewing Co.: Lots of events and lots of beer!
Revive Coffee & Wine: This destination offers quality coffee, pastries, small plate dining, craft beers and local wines. There are also music nights, tastings and other events.

Or, if you’d like to stay closer to home, swing by our favorite spot for a drink, the bar at the Eagles’ Nest!

Tahoe in Autumn

With temperatures dropping but the weather still mild, autumn is one of our favorites times to visit Lake Tahoe. If you’re planning to join us, here are a few local activities to keep in mind:

Oktoberfest can be found various places and dates from late September through October. Visit Squaw Valley on September 21st or Camp Richardson on October 5th and 6th.

The Kokanee Salmon Festival at Taylor Creek celebrates the fall migration of the Kokanee salmon. This free family event is held October 5th and 6th. Join in a salmon feed or perhaps a 5k, 10k or 1/2 marathon.

Apple Hill is open year-round but is always fun during autumn. Pick apples, sample apple ciders and apple pies, visit a winery and enjoy the fall colors!

Cruise to Thunderbird Lodge

A unique way to explore Lake Tahoe, and one of its most historic estates, is to cruise a 1950 woody to Thunderbird Lodge. The cruise begins on the east shore, where the captain and crew will offer you a continental breakfast along with a fascinating history of this beautiful area. Once you reach Thunderbird Lodge, you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the estate, including the Thunderbird Yacht (one of the most valuable wood boats in the world), followed by a picnic lunch overlooking one of the most beautiful views you’ll ever see. This cruise is a delightful, one-of-a-kind experience, and we highly recommend it! Find more information here.

Reminder: Tahoe Summer Road Repairs

Vacationing in Tahoe this summer? Extensive pavement repairs are currently underway throughout the Tahoe Village parking lots and streets. This means that RVs and trailers will not be allowed in the area from May through October. This will affect both our Tahoe Village and Eagles’ Nest resorts, so please keep this in mind when making your summer plans.
