Hot Spots in Tahoe

Sunset over Lake Tahoe

The weather in Tahoe is starting to cool down, making this a perfect time to explore some favorite hot spots! Here are a few ideas for your adventures:

  • The Loft at Heavenly Village is open 7 days a week from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and features live theater, a lounge and dining.
  • Cold Water Brewery & Grill features craft beer, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, as well as special events and live music.
  • Mont Bleu Resort and The Hard Rock Casino offer several restaurants, bars and lounges alongside casino entertainment.
  • Feel like dining right on the lake? Riva Grill is open daily for lunch and dinner and has some of the best views around!
  • There are also spectacular views (and great food) to be found at Brook’s Bar and Deck at Edgewood Tahoe, which features award-winning pub fare. (Golf Digest selected it as a “best golf pub” in 2016!)
  • Or enjoy good German food and bier (along with trivia and open mic nights) at Himmel Haus.
  • Feel like something a bit cozier? Jimmy’s Restaurant (at The Landing) features several private dining alcoves, each with their own fireplace! There are also 5 fire pits on the patio and roof-top deck, which overlooks the lake.
  • Finally, another popular spot is McP’s Taphouse Grill, which has 40 beers on tap and live music Thursdays through Mondays.

Fall Adventures in Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

With temperatures dropping but the weather still mild, autumn is one of our favorites times to visit Lake Tahoe. If you’re planning to join us, here are a few local activities to keep in mind:

Oktoberfest can be found various places and dates from late September through October. Visit Squaw Valley on September 22nd or Camp Richardson on October 6th and 7th.

The Kokanee Salmon Festival at Taylor Creek celebrates the fall migration of the Kokanee salmon. This free family event is held October 6th and 7th. Join in a salmon feed or perhaps a 5k, 10k or 1/2 marathon.

Apple Hill is open year-round but is always fun during autumn. Pick apples, sample apple ciders and apple pies, visit a winery and enjoy the fall colors!

Tahoe’s Best Breweries

View from the Eagles’ Nest

It’s summer in Tahoe, and a wonderful time to check out some of the area’s best breweries! Here are some of our favorites:

  • Cold Water Brewery: This all-grain brewery features hand-crafted beer brewed on site, California comfort food, a full service bar, 5 huge TVs and weekly events and dining specials. Sunday brunch also features a Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar.
  • Stateline Brewery: This popular brewery is a short walk from the casinos and Heavenly’s Gondola.
  • The Brewery at Lake Tahoe: Established in 1992, this local favorite occupies a charming red brick house built in the 1930s.
  • Lake Tahoe Aleworx: This taproom offers a constantly rotating selection of 30 taps including: 3 wines, 1 kombucha, 1 nitro coffee and 25 craft beers. There is also live music!
  • South Lake Brewing Co.: Lots of events and lots of beer!
  • Revive Coffee & Wine: This destination offers quality coffee, pastries, small plate dining, craft beers and local wines. There are also music nights, tastings and other events.

Or, if you’d like to stay closer to home, swing by our favorite spot for a drink, the bar at the Eagles’ Nest!
