Daytona 500!

It’s almost time for the Daytona 500! If you’ll be visiting us during the next month or two, check out these events:

Rolex 24 at the Daytona International Speedway (January 26th-27th): This endurance sports car classic has attracted racing legends since 1962. From sunrise to sunset to sunrise again, this twice-around-the-clock marathon is intense!
Historic North Turn Legends Beach Parade (February 9th): This free event is held in honor of Daytona’s historic beach racing days. Vintage race cars from 1948-1958 will parade down the beach beginning at 10:30 a.m.
And the big one… Daytona 500! (February 17th): This year, the Daytona 500 celebrates its 61st running! This event usually sells out, so make your plans now.

Another popular choice? Hanging at our beachside pool while grilling on the BBQs and then catching some shade under our beautiful tiki huts… enjoy!

Holidays in Daytona

Longing to escape the cold weather? The holidays are a wonderful time to explore Daytona! Here are some ideas to get you started:

Holiday Events at the Casements: tree lighting, shopping, music and more, throughout December! Set on the shore of the Halifax River and just two blocks from the ocean, the mansion has been called “the jewel of Ormond Beach.” During the holidays it transforms into a winter wonderland!
Magic of Lights at the Daytona International Speedway: Through the end of the year, the “World Center of Racing” transforms into a holiday wonderland. The holiday drive-through is open Friday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the Magic of Lights will benefit Florida Hospital Foundation.
Stetson Mansion Christmas Tours: Built in 1886, this famed Victorian Gilded Age residence is a perfect backdrop for elaborate Christmas decorations, which are different every year.

Year-Round Fun in Daytona

No matter when you’re planning to visit Daytona Beach, there are always lots of activities to choose from! Here are a few of our favorites that are held year-round:

The Daytona Beach’s Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m at City Island. This popular event has a rich history, a fabulous location and great vendors. Come explore food products, farm produce, crafts, flowers and more.
The Casements is a Rockefeller home located in Ormond Beach. It offers daily tours of the beautiful home and grounds, Monday through Saturday. Various events and festivals are also held throughout the year. The first Friday of each month, watch a movie under the stars in the Rockefeller Gardens!
The Halifax Harbor Marina Dinner & River Cruise is an all-inclusive 2 hour event, complete with dinner and music. Be sure to book in advance! The food is very good, and now includes a kids’ menu.
