- Start with the Bandera Natural History Museum, where you can find replicas of dinosaurs and ice age animals on the 8 acre grounds, as well as native Texas plants and art exhibits.
- The Frontier Times Museum is the oldest in Bandera. This eclectic and eccentric collection honors the history of the American cowboy.
- Another unusual museum in Bandera is the Town Mountain Miniature Museum. This newer addition to the area offers all kinds of tiny treasures, including many vintage items, and some are for sale in the gift shop.
