Just don’t try to find a short-cut to the river. I stepped into the weeds looking for a path for only a second and ended up with a severe allergic reactions to something. I spent Sunday in an ambulance to the emergency in Boerne and in another ambulance to San Antonio to the hospital overnight. Otherwise, we loved the resort, the small towns around it, horseback riding, and the River Walk in San Antonio. The emergency center and hospital were very nice, but I don’t recommend it.

The Labor Day festivities in Bandera are amazing. While it is a small town, the population grows during this special time of year.
    It is a can’t miss…….

Bandera has been one of our favorite places to go for many years now. We have made one amazing friends that we go back to visit time after time. If you have never been to Bandera, Texas- it’s a vacation that will take you back in time to the “old wild west” days. I is so much fun! Great for families, couples, singles, something there for everyone.
I do have one tip: September is their hottest most humid month of the entire year. We only went there once in September……NEVER AGAIN! I have asthma and it was very hard for me to breath during our stay then. Plus the fact that my hair was a giant frizz ball didn’t help any haha. (My hair color is extreme platinum so I looked kind of like a giant Q-Tip hee hee ah haha!!!)
April is the perfect month (just my preference) to vacation in Bandera, TX. The weather is so pleasant, the wildflowers are all in bloom- the bluebonnets are an indescribabley gorgeous. From atop a hill you can look down into a valley of bluebonnet s and it appears to look just like a lake. It’s one of the most incredible fields of flowers I have ever seen. Just fields and fields of blueness. It’s really breathtaking!
End of October/beginning of November is also a beautiful time to vacation there to see the turning of the leaves in fall. All the orange, yellow & red make for stunning photos.
December at the San Antonio River Walk, is totally amazing with all of the brightly colored lights lining the nearly 2.5 mile River Walk from end to end. It’s been (unofficially) estimated to include 100,000 lights. I say that there are probably double that! It is seriously jaw-dropping in awe. At night with all the different colored light reflecting off of the water, it’s a sight that everyone should see at least once. A “bucket list” must do!
If I could get my kids with their spouses & kids to move to Bandera, I would most certainly move there! They are the only thing that prevents my husband and I from moving there. Yes, we love Bandera, Texas that much!
Slow paced living, deer and squirrels in your front yard, the beautiful Medina River, inviting parks with lush green grass, best BBQ places to eat, and the friendliest most hospitable people anywhere I’ve ever been, are just a few of the reasons you should visit Perennial Vacation Clubs Bandera Texas resort.
Oh, the resort….absolutely awesome! Beautifully decorated and meticulously clean 2 story condos with everything you could ever want/need in them. The staff there is always attentive and accommodating. Very pleasant people indeed.
So next time you are in the mood for some “suh -than hoss-puh-talla-dee” and a lil “haddy may-um” book your week at the Bandera, Texas resort- I promise it will not disappoint!
