Activities:
Year-round warm weather sets the background for fun. Enjoy
a range of water sports along the 20 miles of white sand
beaches or the wide reaches of the Halifax River. Listen
to the roar of engines at the Daytona 500 Speedway, the rhythm
of the waves rolling along the beach, or the satisfying "plunk" of
your golf ball into the cup.
Dining:
With more than four hundred restaurants in the area ranging
from fast food to elegant continental cuisine you're
sure to satisfy any appetite. You might like to catch
a meal of fish hooked fresh from the Atlantic. Florida's
famous red snapper is a local favorite.
Sightseeing:
Racing is in the air at Daytona, world famous for the Daytona
500 and home of action-packed greyhound racing at the Daytona
Beach Dog Track. You're not far from some of the world's
most famous theme parks Disney World, Epcot Center, Marineland
and Sea World. Nearby is the landmark Ponce de Leon Inlet
Lighthouse and a short 40-mile trip will take you to the
Kennedy Space Center.
Shopping:
Browse through the elegant shops of Fountain Square's picturesque
courtyard on Granada Boulevard or do some serious shopping
at 126 stores of the Volusia Mall. Bargain hunters will
enjoy the 40-acre Daytona Flea Market and Farmers' Market
with fresh produce, seafood, and delicious bakery goods.
